The latest version of the Java-based toolkit for building rich client applications, JavaFX 13, has arrived, highlighted by native rendering. Native rendering support lets developers integrate powerful visualization capabilities into their JavaFX applications. After being removed from the Java Development Kit (JDK), JavaFX is released by the free JFX project, and is now provided by Java solutions provider Gluon. JavaFX 13, released September 10, allows for native rendering by supporting NIO bytebuffers backed by WriteableImages, which are direct buffers used in native code. JavaFX 13 also addresses a variety of bugs, such as allowing HTTPS to download all construct dependencies, and fixing a situation where the menu was beeping while using Alt-F mnemonics. It also addresses a memory leak that had WindowEvent. DESTROY affected.
