Oracle Corp and VMware Inc have reached a agreement designed to overcome years of uncertainty on how Oracle manages technical support for VMware users and make switching to Oracle’s cloud storage service simpler for them. VMware emerged as a major player as it is used by many cloud holdouts to operate their own data centres. Cloud providers need the technical compatibility with VMware to win over those customers. Google’s Amazon, Microsoft and Alphabet Inc have also recently announced collaborations with VMware.
